Stress Relief [How Crossfit Improves Mental Health]

From regular walks to team sports and CrossFit, there are all kinds of activities that can help reduce stress, anxiety and depression. Here at 360 Ultimate Fitness we want to help you get started.

When you take up a CrossFit or Burn class here at 360, you are instantly leaving behind that nagging worry that you should do something about your fitness and starting on a journey to happiness! From there, you’ll experience many other health benefits.

Stress relief

Exercise is great for stress relief. “We have known for a long time that exercise promotes physiological and neurochemical responses that make you feel good,” says Prof Nanette Mutrie of the University of Edinburgh’s Institute for Sport, Physical Education and Health Sciences.

Exercise releases endorphins which are the body’s natural feel good chemicals. When they are released through exercise, your mood is boosted naturally.  Combined with the fact you get to walk into the gym and switch off from the outside world for an hour, you can’t help but leave feeling a little bit lighter.

Matt Hamilton 360 Coach says “I regularly have members comment on how their morning classes really set them up for the day and some who can’t wait for their evening class to lift their spirits from a hard day at work!” 

You can train with friends

The sense of community can have a brightening effect on your mood and relieve stress. Bruce Peake talks of his experience joining 360 and says “The members around you are all sharing in your achievements and goals. You get so much praise it’s unbelievable. A great atmosphere.”

We love the class environment and you can’t help but feel motivated and excited. You’ll get as much of a rush from cheering on others as you do from hearing them encourage you to make it to the finish line.

Exercise isn’t just about your physique. It’s an opportunity to see your progress.  Focussing on your goals, challenging yourself and continuing to outperform yourself will leave you feeling more empowered and confident. We love a PB (personal best).
